How it works

Your fee buys access. It never buys you into a company.

Membership is what you pay us for. Investing is something you choose to do, one company at a time, with your own money and your own judgement. Everything below follows from that distinction.

What membership is

Access, curation and education

An annual or monthly fee that gives you the opportunities we choose to feature, live online sessions with founders, educational content and a peer group. It buys you in the room. It doesn't buy you a stake.

What membership is not

A fund, or a decision made for you

There's no pooled vehicle, no fund manager acting on your behalf and no automatic deployment of your fee. Your membership money is never invested in a company.

Five steps, start to finish.

01

You join and self-certify

You choose annual or monthly membership and complete a self-certification step, a short, legally required form confirming your investor status. It protects you, it's not us being bureaucratic, and nothing is shown to you before it's complete.

02

We source and screen

We work our own networks, accelerators, angel groups and referrals to find female-founded UK companies raising. The large majority never make it past first screening.

03

We do the groundwork

The survivors go through our own checks and are written up as a brief you can actually read in one sitting, including the reasons to be cautious.

04

You meet the founder and decide

Live online sessions, a written case and open Q&A. If you want to go further, you express interest. Expressing interest commits you to nothing.

05

Execution happens directly with the founder

Investment paperwork, money transfer and share issuance happen between you and the company. XX Invest isn't part of that transaction.

Who chooses, and what we actually check.

Selection sits with the XX Invest founding team, supported by sector advisors where a business needs specialist eyes. We publish our thesis so you can hold our choices against it. This is our own process for deciding who to feature, not a substitute for your own diligence, what you check before you invest is still yours to do. This isn't an audit, it's a disciplined set of checks, and we're explicit about where the remaining uncertainty is.

Founder and team

Background checks, references from people who've worked with them, and a view on whether this team is right for this problem.

Commercial evidence

Revenue and pipeline verification where it exists, customer conversations, retention and unit economics, not just the deck.

Market and competition

An independent read on market size, who else is credible, and what has to be true for this company to win.

Legal and cap table

Company filings, existing shareholdings, prior rounds, option pool and any structural issues a new investor inherits.

Terms of the round

Valuation, instrument, investor rights, lead investor and minimum cheque size, shown plainly on every brief.

What we couldn't verify

Every brief carries a section naming the things we couldn't confirm and the risks we think matter most.

What you pay, and to whom.

Membership. £2,000 a year, or £200 a month. That's the only fee XX Invest charges you for access, curation and the programme.

Investment costs. If you choose to invest, any costs depend on how that specific round is structured, some may use a nominee or platform to hold shares, and may carry their own fees. Every cost that applies to a given opportunity is stated on that opportunity's brief before you express interest.

Placeholder — pending compliance approval

Final fee, carry and charging disclosures, including how any platform or nominee fees are presented, are placeholder here and must be approved following legal and regulatory review.

What to expect, at a high level.

Timing

Rounds run to the company's timetable, not ours. From first brief to funds transferred is typically weeks, and can be longer.

Illiquidity

Early-stage shares can't easily be sold. Assume your money's committed for many years, and that there may be no exit at all.

EIS and SEIS

Some UK companies qualify for these tax relief schemes. Eligibility is the company's to confirm, reliefs are never guaranteed, and treatment depends on your circumstances.
